Since its launch, the BMW 7 Series has served as a flagship example of performance, comfort, and technological innovation. বিএমডব্লিউ ৭ সিরিজকে বিলাসী গাড়ির জগতে সবচেয়ে জনপ্রিয় সিরিজগুলোর একটি মনে করা হয়। এই গাড়িতে তারা পারফরম্যান্স, আরাম ও প্রযুক্তি এতো সুন্দর মিশেল ঘটিয়েছে যে, অন্যান্য কোম্পানীর বিলাসী গাড়ির জন্য এই সিরিজের গাড়িগুলো এখন হয়ে উঠেছে বেঞ্চমার্ক। ১৯৭৭ সালে প্রথম লঞ্চ হওয়ার পর থেকে এই সিরিজের এখন পর্যন্ত ৬টি জেনারেশন উৎপাদন করা হয়েছে। ২০১৫ সালে আসা ৬ষ্ঠ জেনারেশনের অধীনে রয়েছে আজকের রিভিউয়ের গাড়ি, BMW 740Le 2016।

BMW 740Le গাড়ির রয়েছে একটি বেশ অভিজাত ও ডাইনামিক লুক, যা এই কোম্পানীর বিলাসী গাড়িগুলোতে সবসময়ই দেয়া হয়। সামনের এলইডি লাইটের সম্মিলন ঘটে পাশের কিডনি গ্রিলের সাথে, যা আবার গারির দুই পাশ বেয়ে পেছনের দিকে চলে যায়। সেরা ড্রাইভিং এক্সপিরিয়েন্স ও এক্সটেরিয়র লুককে আরো আকর্ষণীয় করে তোলার জন্য দেয়া হয়েছে ১৩৫ মিমি গ্রাউন্ড ক্লিয়ারেন্স। গাড়ির পেছনেও থাকছে এলইডি টেইল লাইট ও ইন্ডিকেটর।

গাড়ির ভেতরের প্রতিটি পার্টসে অভিজাত ম্যাটারিয়াল ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে। এগুলো স্পর্শ করতে ও ব্যবহার করতে ভিন্ন ধরণের অভিজাত জীবনের স্বাদ পাওয়া যায়। বেশিরভাগ ম্যাটারিয়াল দামি চামড়া দিয়ে তৈরি করা হলেও সেগুলোতে কিছুটা কাঠের ভাইব দেয়া হয়েছে। ভেতরে ৫ জন বসার জন্য যথেষ্টা জায়গা রয়েছে। এছাড়া পেছনে থাকছে ৫১৫ লিটারের বুট ক্যাপাসিটি।

BMW 740Le গাড়িতে থাকছে এইটি ২ লিটারের ইঞ্জিন ও একটি ইলেক্ট্রিক মোটর। এই দুটি মিলিয়ে গাড়ি ৩২২ হর্সপাওয়ার ও প্রায় ৫০০ এনএম টর্ক জেনারেট করতে পারে, যা সত্যিই অনেক পাওয়ারফুল। যদিও আমাদের দেশে এই লেভেলের পাওয়ার আদৌ কোনো কাজে আসবে কি না সেই বিষয়ে আমরা সন্দিহান। তবে পাওয়ারের পাশাপাশি তারা এফিশিয়েন্সির দিকেও বেশ নজর দিয়েছেন। এটি ১০০ কিলোমিটারে ৮.৮ লিটার ফুয়েল খরচ করে, যা এই সেগমেন্টের অন্য যেকোনো সেডানের চেয়ে বেশ ভালো।

রাস্তা যতোই খারাপ হোক না কেনো, BMW 740Le গাড়ির ভেতরে বসে বিশেষ কিছু বোঝা যায় না। তাই গাড়ির রাইড কোয়ালিটি নিয়ে অভিযোগ করার বিশেষ জায়গা নেই। আবার বাইরে থেকে বিশেষ একটা শব্দ’ও ভেতরে আসে না, যা বেশ প্রশংনীয়।

বিএমডব্লিউ ৭ সিরিজে তারা সবসময়ই নিজেদের সেরা টেকনোলজিগুলোর ব্যবহার করেন। এই গাড়িতেও থাকছে অটোমেটেড ইমার্জেন্সি ব্রেকিং, লেন ডিপার্চার ওয়ার্নিং, অ্যাডাপ্টিভ ক্রুজ কন্ট্রোল ইত্যাদির মতো সব আধুনিক নিরাপত্তা ব্যবস্থা। আর এর পাশাপাশি বিনোদনের জন্য তাদের সিগনেচার আই ড্রাইভ ইনফোটেইনমেন্ট সিস্টেম তো থাকছেই।

গাড়ির ভালো দিকগুলো হিসেবে থাকছে বিশাল ইন্টেরিয়র, সুন্দর লুক, হাইব্রিড ড্রাইভট্রেইন, মডার্ন টেকনোলজি ইত্যাদি। আর খারাপ দিকগুলো হিসেবে থাকছে মেইন্টেনেন্স খরচ, ওজন কিছুটা বেশি আর ইলেক্ট্রিসিটিতে ব্যবহার করলে সীমিত রেইঞ্জসহ ইত্যাদি বিষয়।
